Josh Kunkel, AIA, LEED Green associate
Co-Founder | Managing Principal
As the son of a contractor, Josh grew up on job sites. Even though he was raised in the country, he fell in love with the city. He built Legos, K’nex, and dreamed about Frank Lloyd Wright designs. Josh’s passions led him to Oklahoma State University, where he earned a BArch degree and an Environmental Studies Certificate.
Josh specializes in ecosystem planning/development, infill development, historic preservation, and medical/healthcare. Josh has an inter-disciplinary background in architecture, planning and construction, which gives him a keen eye to both detail and context when making decisions impacting design, environment, and user experience. In addition to his extensive project management experience, he is a strong advocate for community-conscious design.
He is a regular podcast guest, featured on EntreArchitect, The Placemaking Podcast, and Young Architect, discussing multiple topics ranging from incremental infill development to the future of the Architecture industry.
Josh is a licensed Architect in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas, Colorado, and Texas, and holds an NCARB certification. He enjoys spending time with his wife and four sons, traveling, attending concerts, making dad jokes, eating tacos, and listening to John Mayer.
