Creating a unique and versatile venue for community events, weddings, corporate events, concerts, and more.
The site
is located just outside a downtown main street setting, providing ample outdoor space, as well as some existing buildings and structures. The idea was to create a cohesive and unified plan that ties all of the space together. The site can be utilized fully, or in sections, to accommodate a variety of event types and sizes.
We were inspired
by the impressive structure and remarkable quality of space, despite the original buildings’ significant state of disrepair. We worked with the client to re-imagine the main building as an indoor venue space for weddings and other community events. The plan is to repair and restore as many of the unique existing features as possible, such as the brickwork, multi-pane industrial windows, and exposed roof structure, while also providing some modern updates and amenities.
The second building
on the site would be repurposed into an open air bar and pavilion. Even though this particular building was not salvageable in its entirety, aspects of it would be maintained to provide structure, form, and a sense of place.
The open lawn between the buildings provided the perfect opportunity to incorporate an outdoor entertainment space.
