The Things We Loved This Past Year at Method

As 2021 comes to a close, we want to look back and highlight some of our favorite moments over the last year. You can find those listed below, divided between company-wide highlights and our team members’ more personal moments.

  • As a company, we had our first ever in-person full team gathering - back in July, everyone met in Tulsa for our quarterly meeting and afterward had some fun on the lake and in Tulsa.

  • One of our projects - Florence Park Pediatrics - received the Oklahoma Interior Design Coalition (OIDC) Award for Best Small Healthcare Project.

  • We rebranded!

  • We focused our project niche on a few specialized types: infill and adaptive reuse projects.

The Method Team

Adriana

  • My husband and I bought the right house for our family to grow in. We also sold our old house within 7 hours of posting!

  • We are expecting our second baby boy this next year.

  • This year, we went to Florida for a Family Vacation. Seeing my son play with the waves, sand, seashells was awesome; he would jump and laugh for every new experience.

  • My sister got engaged to a friend of mine.

  • We’ll be spending Christmas with my family - my brother and his fiancé will be here in January for my sister's wedding.

Beth

  • I survived distance learning with 3 kids and officially sent them back to in-person learning.

  • We had a wonderful Colorado spring break trip, along with a big family Florida vacation in the Fall.

  • Jasper, my youngest, started preschool this Fall.

  • I started working from the office more regularly.

  • We participated in Kendall Whittier’s Halloween event - all our kids looked cute in their costumes.

Drew

  • This year, I had my photography featured in Tulsa Airport and the Philbrook Museum, along with having some architectural photography licensed by a few companies.

  • My creative partner and I had our first solo gallery show, Tulsa Skins, at a gallery in Kendall Whittier (Thank you Josh New for hosting us!)

  • I officially became a living donor this summer - I donated my least favorite kidney.

  • I took my annual pilgrimage to Philadelphia, MS, for the Neshoba County Fair. It had to shut down last year, so attending this year was a must.

  • I also bought a house in Tulsa - it turns 100 this next year.

Josh

  • This year, we were able to have three solid vacations in Florida, Colorado, and a staycation in Tulsa.

  • We have all four of our kids in school.

  • I read more than 40 books, for the third year in a row. Some favorites were The Color of Law, Lean Architecture, and This Could Be Our Future.

  • I started hiking regularly at Turkey Mountain and Keystone Ancient Forest.

Nick

  • My wife and I moved across the country to Pennsylvania.

  • I started a new adventure working on a new piece of Construction Technology.

  • I landed myself in the top 2% of Streamers on Twitch.

  • And I finally got my wife the wedding ring she deserves.

Sarah

  • My family and I went to Florida for vacation - it was great to spend that time with my family in a new setting.

  • We received the Covid vaccines (3 times!)

  • Officially bought our first minivan.

  • And we painted all our kitchen cabinets!
